RIDING CLUB Candice Pottage Photography
a2ft fence, to storming around a90cm event course, with aspirations of starting (and hopefully completing!!) a100cm course this year! Ihavebeenamember of afew Riding Clubs
now, temptedpredominately by the various training opportunitiestheyoffer, sowhenthe opportunity arose formetobecome Training Coordinator of alocal riding club (North OxfordshireRiding Club -NORC), Ijumped at the chance. Iamvery passionateabout training, and firmly
believe it is an opportunitytobetreasured, for whatever purpose you’re doing it, and Iamso
thankful forall those instructors and organisers forputting on such brilliant and supportive sessions to take me from whereIwas –towhere Iamnow –and whereIwill be tomorrow. The trainer is out therefor everyone,
regardless of the trainee’sabilityand aspirations, which is something Iamtrying to provide through the training at NORC. Iambuilding aquarterly training plan foreveryone -those interestedingroundwork, hacking, beginning to jump to those confidently popping over90+cm courses–and everything in between, creating
goals and working with trainerstoachieve (and smash) these goals. Or justdip in and out. Covid-19 is scuppering plans somewhat, but I am busyturning as much online as possible!! So regardless of your ability, goals and
personal situation –get out there, and have fun (Covid-19 safe, obvs!). Find your local riding
club.See what training and social opportunitiestheyoffer. And iftheydonot offer what youwant, ask them to –theywill only offer what theythink memberswant, or find one that doesoffer what youwant!!!
