Spirited Union Rum Extends New Flavour Range with
Organic Coconut Expression
The world’s first botanical rum distillery, The Spirited Union Distillery in Amsterdam, has launched a new expression in the UK, Organic Coconut. The new flavour is already available in the Netherlands and will roll out internationally from February 2021. Organic Coconut is the latest expression in the range which launched in 2019 with Spirited Union Spice & Sea Salt and the world’s first white botanical rum, Spirited Union Lemon & Leaf. The new expression also joins recently launched flavours, Queen Pineapple & Spice, Sweet Orange & Ginger and Pink Grapefruit & Rose.
Spirited Union Founder, Ruben Maduro says, “We are continuing our mission to introduce a flavour driven approach to rum by avoiding fake additives and artificial aromatics, common in a lot of rums in the market today. Having lived and worked in Aruba in the Dutch Antilles, I looked to warmer climates for inspiration for our botanicals for this new expression.”
Organic Coconut has a taste of the tropics with a slightly nutty, sweet and creamy coconut flavour.
Spirited Union Organic Coconut Rum unites tropical Belizean rum with sun-dried organic coconut flakes. The natural sweetness of toasted coconut is balanced by infusing Madagascan vanilla and Peruvian cacao for a sweet, nutty and creamy flavour.
For a rich texture and well-rounded mouthfeel, the rum is brought down to mixing strength with organic coconut water. Toasting the coconut allows it take on a deeper coconut flavour with rich hints of vanilla and an unprocessed and complex finish.
RRP £27.50 for 70cl bottle. 38% ABV.
