Tanqueray Announces Launch of New Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale in Wave of Innovation for 2021

Premium Gin brand Tanqueray is expanding its portfolio and bringing a series of exciting innovations to the drinks category.

First to join the brand’s portfolio this month is Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale (41.3% ABV). In April, the brand is also set to introduce two brand new ready-to-drink (RTD) 250ml can formats for Tanqueray London Dry Gin and Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla Distilled Gin (6.5% ABV). Tanqueray Rangpur Lime Distilled Gin (41.3% ABV) is also set to showcase a refreshed pack in the same month.

Continuously inspired by Charles Tanqueray’s quest for only the best quality, the latest innovations have all been crafted to balance the signature characteristics of Tanqueray with layered flavour profiles. Innovation continues to be a key driver of growth within the Gin category, making the latest launches from Tanqueray perfectly placed to capitalise on this opportunity.

Tanqueray Rangpur Lime – the rare Rangpur Lime, layered with bay leaves and ginger, brings distinct bold flavour to the already perfectly balanced botanicals of Tanqueray London Dry Gin. The newly renamed Rangpur Lime, will be showcasing a beautiful new lime green pack to ensure stand out on shelf and communicate its citrus flavour profile with the same, great tasting liquid. The refreshed pack will be on shelf from April 2021.

New RTD 250ml Formats – available in single 250ml cans, the new formats will tap into the growing RTD category (+22.5% ahead of current Off Trade BWS market). The variants will be Tanqueray London Dry Gin & Tonic, and Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla & Tonic. Adrienne Gammie, Marketing Director for Gins, Pimms and Baileys says; “The Gin category continues to thrive and this is primarily motivated by consumer demand for new and exciting variants. Tanqueray has always been commended for its taste and quality – and the introduction of Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale is an extension of the brand’s commitment to introducing rich and exciting new choices to the market.

“We continue to see a huge trend in customers seeking new formats – especially in the pre-mix category. The new can formats provide convenience to the consumer, whilst being able to enjoy a high-quality serve at home.”

Since 1830, Tanqueray has been the hallmark for quality, with taste as its defining source of authority. Charles Tanqueray’s quest for only the best quality led him to create 300 recipes before landing on the perfect one for Tanqueray London Dry Gin.
