T
he Happy Pounds keep rolling
in each month along with a number of Not-so-Happy
Pounds, although not so many this month. Maybe something to do with the weather and short days. Footbal l manages to appear fairly often though! Here are some of the best:
* James Yule was delighted Rangers had beaten Celtic.
* Ian Black had received a late Christmas present of a boxed set of ‘To the Manor Born’.
* Anne Tait was delighted that her grandson who had spent the last 4 months in Texas was now safely home.
* Isobel Clifford was happy that a 1,000 piece jigsaw that she had started 30 years ago was now complete. She had restarted it 6 days earlier.
* Eric Fraser was amused that his younge s t granddaught e r was particularly pleased with the ‘stocking satsuma’ that she had received for Christmas.
* Grace was happy that her knitting of Christmas novelties for sale had raised £300 which she had donated to the Aquabox Charity.
*Mike Dow was pleased to announce that all the bottles of hand sanitiser had been distributed. *Wilda was pleased to say that another £200 of food had been purchased for the Storehouse Foodbank and that they thanked us for the help for the Christmas Giveaway Day. *Wilda was also pleased to say that a 7th grandchild had been announced and was due in
July.
* Hugh Elliot was pleased to say that he had completed 4 weeks of Pilates Exercises via Zoom.
* George McIntosh had apologised for missing a meeting but in doing so he had managed to witness an amazing 153 yard goal scored by Dundee United’s Lawrence Shankland in a 2 all draw against St Johnstone.
And finally a couple of Unhappy Pounds: * James Yule was not so happy to have learned that his son in Glasgow had had 2 new electric bikes stolen form his locked garden shed.
* On hearing James story, Bruce Rollo told of a similar experience when an old bike had been stolen from his shed. He was unhappy to announce that, unlike the 2 electric bikes, it had been returned!
