START WITH TIMELESS FOUNDATIONS Your cabinetry is the most important part of your kitchen, and so we’d always suggest choosing something that’s not trend-led. And that’s what’s so covetable about the country house kitchen look: it’s one that never goes out of style. Our Chichester collection is the clear front-runner – its beading and moulding details reference Georgian and Victorian design, but are still pared-back enough to work in contemporary interiors.
DON’T FEEL LIMITED TO NEUTRALS When we think of country house kitchens, we often picture spaces in soft tones of cream, stone and taupe, which are all absolutely beautiful choices to complement classic cabinetry. But let’s not forget that decorators of the past weren’t shy with colour. Perhaps you look to an Arts & Crafts style and opt for rich greens and russets offset by airy whites. Or you could choose to paint in distinctly Edwardian, pastel shades, or the strong yellows of the Regency period. With a timeless foundation, don’t be afraid to experiment – the beauty of timber cabinetry is you can always repaint.
