a great, safe, and relaxing Thanksgiving. For many years, this time of year has been my favorite with the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Apartment Association (GCNKAA). We typically would have just come off of another tre- mendous Night Out for Outreach event - which always brings out members who don’t typically attend our monthly General Membership Meetings (GMM). This brings us to the Holiday Cheers event which brings out an even larger crowd
and a chance to catch up with so many of our industry friends while we celebrate the holidays and give back to our community. Unfortunately, this year, due to COVID-19, both of these events were either canceled or altered for the safety of our members. One of the hallmarks of our association is our friendships; our members truly enjoy being with one another and having the opportunity to spend time together. Personally, I can’t wait to get back to shaking hands and seeing our industry friends in person. Hopefully, those days will resume again soon. Speaking of the Holiday Cheers event, we will be kicking off the online auction on December 3. This will run for a full week
through December 10 when we will draw the Rapid Raffle winners as well as spin the wheel for the general raffle ticket items. Monies raised during the Benefit will help support the Rent Assistance Programs of our social service partners including Free Store in Greater Cincinnati, Citizens Active In Northside (CAIN, Jewish Family Service, and Santa Maria Community Services. To date, The Apartment Association Outreach has provided
more than $150,000 in Rent Assistance to our partners this year. With the current economy, these funds are more important than ever to support our local community and the efforts of our fellow organizations. Make sure to register at
www.gcnkaa.org and click- ing the link provided. As we move toward the end of 2020, we have had a couple
of changes to the board of directors. After several years of service, Oksana Lukjanenko has stepped down from the board. We thank you for all your support and service to our association. With that change, Jordann Morgan with Fath Properties has stepped into the voting member seat vacated by Oksana; and we now welcome Megan Lawhon from PLK Communities to the GCNKAA Board. Megan serves as the COO for PLK and is a great addition to the board.
From my family to yours, I hope you have a safe and healthy
holiday season. By mid 2021, I truly believe we will be all back together and will celebrating our friendships and the industry.
