(ABC) Guide to Resilient Compassionate Crisis Leadership,
consolidated using our experiences, provides a path through three key phases of combatting a crisis; to help businesses to understand the challenges, regain stability and continue a positive post-crisis trajectory. Each stage pragmatically
considers key business elements, including leadership, people and strategy, continuity and finance, supply chain and customers, digital and technology, and well-being.
The ABC model provides a step-
by-step pathway – not just to survive, but to thrive beyond Covid-19. Let’s take a closer look at the steps:
ACT Stop, use time wisely, gather information, contemplate, take a breath, observe and proceed. This is the ideal mindset for approaching the unknown. The ACT phase is the most
challenging phase because it’s about managing yourself first as the business leader, and then empowering your team to take the first step of a challenging road ahead.
BALANCE Now that we fully understand the challenge ahead, we can be inspired to renew as stability, albeit a new form of stability, is regained. To regain stability, pragmatic planning is required for the most
effective ways of meeting your customer’s new needs, that will ensure business resilience and growth when executed in the next phase.
CONTINUE When your team has continued through the post-crisis business trajectory, your leadership has proven to be bold, innovative, inspiring and authentic. The team is 100% with you. In this phase, you are entering a brave new world that you have created with your resilient and compassionate leadership, and your company is shaped to take advantage of new business opportunities. Analysts suggest the economy
may shrink by up to 35% during Covid-19. History shows us that the shape of a company in this phase will determine if it is able to surf the crest of the bounce back wave.
