4. Once you’re in the woods, turn right to follow the upper track. Stay on this track and when the path splits in two, stay on the higher path.

5. After a while, the path descends to a lower track, where you turn right to continue in the same direction.


6. Follow this path straight ahead for a short distance until you reach a gate that brings you out into a small car park.


7. Enter the car park then immediately turn left through a small gate to follow a grassy path. (Note this path was quite muddy at the time of our walk).

8. The path starts to open out and on a clear day you can enjoy some fantastic views of the Wiltshire countryside. Continue ahead keeping the fence on your right.


9. Keep following the fence line as it bears right and right again. You can see the location of Oliver’s Castle on your left. Continue ahead keeping the fence line to your right.


10. If you wish, you can stop at the information sign to learn more about Roundway Down.
