108TH CHIPPING NORTON MUSIC FESTIVAL


In 1904, Miss Ruth Dickins and Mrs Eleanora Dickins started a festival –


the Stour Choral Union in Shipston-on-Stour for the "encouragement of part-singing in the country districts".


Fast forward to 2020, and the 108th Chipping Norton Music Festival as it is now known, is taking place from the 6th to the 21st March. One of the oldest festivals of its kind, there are over 140 classes that people are invited to participate in and numerous scheduled concerts.


Key dates for your diary are Friday 6th March when the festival opens with the popular Youth Jazz Band Challenge; Sunday 8th


when a popular Vocal Workshop takes place and a concert with Oxford-based Out of the Blue, whilst on the 15th of the month the festival President Anthony Williams, and Vice-President Craig Ogden are set to entertain an audience. In the 21st March The Traditional Festival Concert brings the Festival to a close on the 21st which includes highlights from the previous two weeks.
