Holistic Counseling Practice Opening in Austin
A
new holistic counseling practice, Ar- rive Counseling, offi cially opens its
doors at 4131 Spicewood Springs Road, in Austin, on March 1. Claire Palmer, MA, LPC, uses Acceptance & Commit- ment T erapy (ACT) in conjunction with other holistic modalities such as yoga breath and posture practices, ecotherapy techniques and creative expression to help people change the way they relate to their diffi cult emotions and unworkable thoughts. Most people were never taught how to hold discomfort.
Claire Palmer
Consequently, they develop favorite strategies to try and control the way they feel such as distraction with screens, opting out of plans and turning to substances to numb the pain. Some of these strategies come with signifi cant costs. Palmer helps clients address anxiety, overwhelm, depression,
burnout or stress, by cultivating a relationship with them to help give them a fresh perspective on how to handle these experiences in a more workable way—in a way that allows them to show up fully to whatever life throws at them and still remain connected to their heart’s deepest values.
