balm. Additionally, other popular uses of CBD topical oils are for therapeutic post- workout massage. When using CBD topically for massage,

there are unlimited benefi ts to the skin. CBD contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for example, gamma-linoleic acid that leaves skin feeling soſt and moisturized. When used in massage, pure, hemp-derived CBD oil can also help with infl amed muscles and several skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. CBD can always be used in combina-

tion with other essential oils for specific desired effects. For example, it gives a cooling effect when used with peppermint and is a deep skin moisturizer when used with shea butter. As with all products, Mother Nature

should always be at the heart of anything we put on and in our bodies. While the results are promising, more human studies explor- ing the eff ects of CBD on acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and eczema are needed. All in all, the ever-growing body of evidence suggests that CBD oil and salves are good for every part of us, inside and out.

Try Vitamins and Garlic

to Lower Gastric Cancer Risk In a rural region of China where gastric cancer is common, researchers found in a two-decade study that two approaches—antibiotics and vitamin/mineral supplements—protected against it. Both methods, as well as a garlic supple- ment, significantly reduced death rates from the cancer. Peking University Cancer Hospital and Institute researchers enrolled 3,365 residents ages 35 to 64 from 13 villages with symptoms of H. pylori, a gut bacteria linked to increased risk of ulcers and cancer. Two weeks of conventional antibiotics treatment reduced the risk of gastric cancer over a 22-year period, and twice-daily supplements of 250 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C, 100 international units of vitamin E and 37.5 micrograms of selenium taken for seven years also reduced gas- tric cancer incidence. Garlic in the form of 400 mg aged garlic extract and one mg of steam- distilled garlic oil was given to a third group for seven years. All three treatments significantly slashed the gastric cancer fatality rate.
