CPD SPECIFIER THE MAGAZINE FOR DCE DELEGATES EDITORS COMMENT Dear Reader / Meet the EXPERTS delegate,

Welcome to the first edition of the year, and this decade, of CPD SPECIFIER, the magazine for DCE delegates.

It is quite a sobering thought that DCE is now into our FIFTH decade of staging regional events for construction professionals across the British Isles.

Who would have thought that we would still be running around the country trying to educate and inform?!

2020 actually looks like we could be just as busy as ever with approximately 80 different dates announced and planned.

This year will see the 31st annual JERSEYBUILD, the 30th annual MANXBUILD and a return to locations such as Guernsey and NORTHERN IRELAND.

We do of course, still have numerous events across mainland UK including 6 LONDON CPD CLUB dates.

In 2020, we will be working with even more BUILDING CONTROL departments staging individual dates in association with quite a number of different Authorities. The SUFFOLK Building Control Showcase in Ipswich will have its 6th annual outing and the Newmarket event in January is already established after just two years.

New BUILDING CONTROL dates include events for LANCASHIRE LABC in Preston, BEDFORD Building Control in Bedford and CUMBRIAN BUILDING CONTROL Group in Penrith.

These are in addition to the already well supported events working with other Authorities.

I am delighted to advise that the 2020 event programme is already quite well supported with many event programmes completely filled. We have quite a few NEW companies involved this year and many of the ‘regular’ presenters have been updating their seminars in order to be current with product performance, applications and compliance.

As ever, the DCE events are only successful because of your support and willingness to attend so THANK YOU and, hopefully, we will continue to meet up at as many of the events as possible throughout the year?

Perhaps, now that the political picture is settled, and regardless of any individual political beliefs, we can all concentrate on our individual aspirations for 2020 and enjoy a peaceful, healthy and prosperous new decade?

Best regards,

JANUARY 2020
