GUARDS POLO CLUB may be closed over the winter season but our neighbours at Windsor Great Park’s Savill Garden, continue to deliver a packed winter agenda. The team at the Crown Estate has organised an array of varied events in the coming weeks including:


Vintage carousel and carriage rides at The Savill Garden: Everyone can take a spin on this popular vintage carousel. Alternatively, take a carriage ride through the winter woodland. The carousel will be at The Savill Garden from 14 -23 December and then again from 26 December – 1 January 2020 inclusive. To book a carriage ride, please email ascotcarriages.co.uk.

Christmas Shopping at The Savill Garden Shop: In the run-up to Christmas The Savill Garden Shop – featuring artisan suppliers from around the UK – offers shopping evenings every Thursday in December until 7pm. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase some unusual presents for family and friends. The Savill Garden Kitchen will also be open, offering plenty of delicious dishes.

The Winter Garden in The Savill Garden*: Marvel at the variety of beautiful and fragrant plants that thrive in the winter months in The Savill Garden. Discover the flaming dogwoods and willows in the Winter Garden as well as the golden grasses from New Zealand. The Queen Elizabeth II Temperate House is the perfect place to enjoy plants from across the world, alongside our National Collection of Mahonia. *Garden entry fees apply.


Christmas trees at Windsor Great Park: Buy a freshly-cut Christmas tree from Windsor


Great Park, at Forest Gate SL4 2BY from 28 November – 22 December. The Park’s foresters will be on hand to offer helpful advice while you choose your tree, ranging in height from 3 feet to 25 feet. Wreaths, fresh boughs of holly and mistletoe, plus a wide selection of decorations, are also available.
