Dean Wickham has been with Co- op for 43 years.


“I started as a fuel truck driver and then things just sort of evolved from there,” said Wickham, who moved his way through ranks to eventually find himself at the main office working in the company’s then still-small petroleum department. Today, Wickham is one of two Petroleum


Division Managers, and has helped oversee an ever-expanding and extremely important part of South Country Co-op’s business operations.


“There has always been that progression (with Co-op),” Wickham says. “If you have the ambition and the want to take on different and new things with the company, the opportunity is there.”


Sticking with Co-op all these years has given Wickham the opportunity to build an enjoyable life along the way, a fact not lost on the man who says he’s still a few years away from entering retirement.


“The stability has been great; I’ve never ever felt like I wasn’t going to be able to bring home a pay cheque,” Wickham says. “It allowed me to raise a family and not have to worry about whether I’d have a good job.”
