We are looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor who would take lessons in the absence of the class teacher. The Cover Supervisor will be required to distribute and explain the work set, respond to any questions that may arise and manage the behaviour of the students.

Senior Journalist/ Deputy Editor required


Mail Publications, publishers of the Downs Mail, Maidstone and Malling's number one newspaper and its quarterly sister publication, Mid Kent Living, is looking for an experienced, all-round senior journalist.


The role entails all aspects of newspaper work, so a sound knowledge of reporting, news gathering, news editing, sub-editing and proof-reading is needed. The successful candidate will also drive content to our expanding daily news website and contribute features into our popular magazine, Mid Kent Living, and have the necessary skills to help manage a small dedicated team and deputise for the Editor.


Some evening and weekend working will be required. Local knowledge is an advantage but not essential. A sense for strong campaigning, community journalism is a must.


Ideally, the successful candidate will have a full NCTJ qualification or equivalent and a minimum of five years’ experience in a news media environment.
