says. “Yoga is an overall wellness activity. Any type of exercise is good for your body — it’s a cancer prevention as well as ben- eficial for those who have had cancer.”
Sharing hope
At a recent Peitz Cancer Support House luncheon, attend- ees included survivors of prostate, breast, lung, colon and rec- tal cancer — men, women and couples, Melissa says. It suddenly hit her. “We’re doing it!” Melissa says, tears springing into her eyes. “It’s a passion of mine. It’s happening. Couples, men and women, facing different cancer diagnoses — they’re all helping each other.
