69th British National Ploughing Championships at Nocton, Lincolnshire

Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th October 2019 Report by Sharon Dodd

Photos taken by Nathan Dodd & Kenny Wharton T

he high point of the British competition season is the annual British National Ploughing Championships, this year held at Nocton Lincolnshire by kind permission of Beeswax Dyson Farming Ltd. The first day of the event the weather was a lot kinder than the second day where it was wet and soggy underfoot. The event held on a fantastic site made a great weekend for ploughmen and woman who kept on smiling and giving out banter despite the weather.

The Society of Ploughmen once again put on an impressive country show offering a glimpse of how farming has changed over the past 300 years, with loads to look at including trade stands, shopping stalls, country crafts and vintage fairground. The 70th British National Championships will be held on the Scottish Borders at Mindrum Northumberland.
