Best Visual Promotion
Colourful and eye-catching designs saw Ideal Electrical Solutions (UK) Ltd take top spot in the Best Visual Promotion category. It was the Edinburgh firm’s third success at the SELECT Awards after landing the same title in 2016 and winning Best Small Contractor the year before. Alan Wilson praised the company for the engaging way it presented itself to the public. He added:

EDA Scottish Section – Wholesaler Apprentice of the Year The future of the industry also came under the spotlight as apprentice Rian Keegan was honoured for his impressive skills. The 20-year-old, of CEF, was thrilled to take the title, which was only introduced two years ago. Rian, from East Kilbride, said: “There was a huge response for the apprentice post with CEF and I am very grateful to them and the teams I work with, for showing faith in me and giving me this great chance. “After I
successfully completed my apprenticeship in
Warehousing and Storage, I was delighted to be offered a permanent Sales Assistant role at
CEF in Glasgow.
“To win this award is an enormous incentive for me, and I plan to take every opportunity to progress my career in electrical wholesaling.” Andy

Also nominated for the award, sponsored by EDA Apprenticeships Plus, were Connor Grant from CEF, Danny Jones of Edmundson Electrical, CEF’s Stuart Farmer and Lewis Connor of Scott Coppola Electrical Distributors Ltd. It was presented by Angela Devine, Apprenticeship Account Manager at EDA Apprenticeships Plus, and Andrew Burt, Chair of the EDA Scottish Section and MD of Glasgow- based AIB Electrical Wholesale Ltd. Live music and dancing got the
party started after all the awards had been handed out as winners and guests celebrated. There was also a prize raffle that raised nearly £3,000 for the Electrical Industries Charity, before top band Franco had everyone up on the dancefloor.
