Technical knowledge on show at Meet the Buyer


ELECT played a starring role at the recent Meet the Buyer North event, delivering important messages about safety and regulation. As the first trade

The Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB) will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a glittering banquet at Edinburgh Castle. Members and special


guests will assemble at the imposing landmark on Thursday 21 November to celebrate five decades of achievement. Fiona Harper,


The Secretary of the SJIB, said: “Preparations for the event began last year. “As with any celebration,


everything starts to ramp up in the last few weeks and we are now making final preparations to ensure the evening is a great success.” Founded in 1969 by Unite the Union and SELECT, the

SJIB’s role includes regulating between employers and employees, stimulating industry progress and controlling levels of skill, health and safety competence and wages and welfare benefits. A full report of the
