In the half light of dusk, we watched as people walked out onto the incredible set and then in breathtaking fashion the 'spectacular' began. Ricardo and the rest of the cast were superb, for those thinking this is a tribute or lookalike type show, you are very, very mistaken, this is the West End in the heart of Worcestershire, set, talent and atmosphere to boot! In a blink people were on their feet rocking out to some of the most iconic songs of a generation as if part of the backing group. The staging is first class, making you feel part of the production.
In true theatre style, there's thankfully a 15 minute interval which gave me time to grab a drink and rest my throat – I hadn't realised just how much singing along to the show I'd done, but thankfully, the stars’ voices were so powerful and the acoustics of the stadium so good that those surrounding me heard the show not me – relief!
The second part of the show went by far too quickly, playing such greats as Bohemian Rhapsody and of course, We Will Rock You! Looking around at the many faces, you could tell that no-one wanted this 'experience' – I use the word experience as that's what it was – to end. The event ended at 10pm and the cast waved their goodbyes as they made their way across the pitch to rapturous applaud.. The stadium was certainly filled with an air of appreciation.

The fun didn't end there; a lively after show party in the Hospitality Suite ensured that the energy of the evening continued with a DJ and dancing until 12.30am, which included some new moves by guests who had been watching the show keenly! Hands up, this production was amazing and great value for money, it makes a perfect evening out for friends, partners and work colleagues and a talking point for years to come.
I'm delighted to share that Sixways plan to host this kind of event regularly, so do yourself a favour and keep an eye out for what's coming up next – I'll see you there!
