BUNGAY camera club held its latest

club competition

with the theme “Skylines" on July 10th. This was judged by Malcom English ARPS who made the journey from Cromer to Bungay to adjudicate on the evening. A larger than normal number of images were entered and attendance on the night by the members was good. Malcom’s comments and his forthright appraisals of the images on display were very well received by the attendees. Once again yet another highly qualified touring judge was greatly impressed by the ever increasing standard of imagery on display from the Bungay Camera Club membership. The monochrome print was very well

section

represented with judge Malcom English having real trouble separating some really excellent offerings. This high quality situation resulted in three members sharing the first place position by all being awarded the 20 points maximum score. These members were Marion Ridgley, with her lovely strong graphic print

Sue Grief with her extreme black and white contrasty lith style image “Scary Skyline” and thirdly new member, Ron Dekker with his superbly atmospheric landscape mono image entitled “Summertime in Scotland”.

Colour print section: Yet again however, the judge had much difficulty in separating images

in this category. This

in turn meant that two long standing members had to share first place. These two old stagers were David Penrose with “Golden Skyline” and Holly Stranks with “Reflected Skyline”. Both of these images were awarded 20 points. In the digital image section

projected success

was enjoyed yet again by relatively new member, Andy Willows with a first place 20 points being awarded for his almost abstract moody image entitled “Lowestoft power, old and new”. The results are as follows. Competition Theme “Skylines”. Colour Print: 1st place

with 20 points entitled “Walking the lines-Brisbane”,

inseparable were David Penrose with “Golden Skyline” and Holly

Stranks

with “Reflected skyline". Monochrome Print: 1st place shared, each with 20 points were Marion Ridgley with “Walking the lines- Brisbane”, Sue

Grief “Scary

Skyline”and Ron Dekker with “Summertime in Scotland”. DPI (digitally projected image): Andy Willows with a first place 20 points for “Lowestoft

power, old and

new”. Bob

chairman thanked the judge for his excellent

Taylor, the clubs feedback

on the night and reminded the membership that the Annual Exhibition was now fast approaching and to make their final image submissions. The annual Bungay Camera Club Exhibition is the culmination of much hard work and will be held this year with a greater display of members photographs than ever. Members of the public are cordially invited to attend. Entry is free and the exhibition opens from 10am on Saturday 31st August at Broome Village Hall, near Bungay. New members

of the lucky ones and I urge your readers to continue there support again this year”. This year we have added a new twist to the Saturday as along with the Children’s Fancy dress, there will be more arena acts for the pub- lic to watch come and meet the large Trex and his dino- saur friends, also our fun dog show and races and fun and games and back by popular- ity last year the Quay rocks starting at 6pm with live vo- calists and Bands. This year we have UB42 headlining who are a great UB40 tribute band along with Scooted and booted and the talented Emily and Eryn with Moore Music Roadshow. Entry only £1. All official Carnival events take place on Beccles quay apart from of course the tradi- tional Carnival parade which leaves Blyburgate Car Park at 1pm on Sunday 17th August, turns left into Gosford road, left into Station Road, straight up into Town Centre around past QD, left at Town Hall into Saltgate, Northgate and finishing at Fen Lane Beccles Quay.

On the Quay Sunday after- noon will be stalls, Funzone,

displays and much more, entry is £1 as putting on this event costs a large sum so as to keep it affordable to all. No bottles or glass is permit- ted on site.
