June 2019 was slightly warmer but much wetter than long-term average. This was the third warmer than average June in succession, although Mean Temperature was 1.2C above 1981-2010 average for month, there were few very warm days. nly five days st 2nd 24th, 29th and 30th recorded Maximum Temperature of 25C or better, up to 28.0C

Likewise there were few really cool days (for the time of year), the three day period 10th to 12th inclusive with Maximum of 15.0C or slightly lower were the chilliest, also included two of the three wettest days of the month. This time the real drivers behind the temperature surplus were a high number of mild nights, six nights recorded 14C or better, while just four nights fell below 10C (the average minimum for the month). Average Minimum Temperature for the month taken in isolation was the second highest on my entire June record, only 2017 exceeded this, albeit by over one degree Celsius. 17.3C, 17.1C and 17.0C. This time last year the headlines were dominated by a long settled spell, June had only recorded 0.76” with just one wet day producing 90% of that total early in the month, (May’s rainfall was of the same amount). SIZEWELL C HAVE YOUR SAY
The next stage of public consultation on the proposals for a new nuclear power station at Sizewell will begin on 18 July 2019. Responses need to be received by 27 September 2019.
EDF Energy* completed three stages of formal public consultation between 2012 and 2018. Stage 4 will focus on some updated options for transport and freight delivery, land requirements and ecology.
We intend to submit an application to the Secretary of State for a Development Consent Order for Sizewell C in 2020. The application will include an Environmental Impact Assessment.
Our ‘Statement of Community Consultation’ sets out how we will consult with residents and stakeholders and how you can respond. Pick up your copy at the Sizewell C Information Office or you can view it at
www.sizewellc.co.uk and the offices of Leiston Town Council, Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk Council.
Stage 4 documents will be available at the Sizewell C Information Office and the public exhibitions from 18 July.
