with Care will be performing again this year, playing their wide range of music to suit all tastes. Again, entry is free with food and drink available for purchase. Tickets for our popular 50-50 raffle will be available to purchase prior to the Band’s interval. Sunday, 18th August, is Barrel Fair Day which starts at 11am with the usual procession for children gathered at the entrance to the church opposite The Crown as the Westleton Village Hall is currently under construction. They will proceed at 11.15am to the main arena for the opening ceremony at 11.30am. All children are welcome to take part and there will be prizes for those in fancy dress under the age of 13 years. As this is a special year for the Barrel Fair, we would like costumes to be silver-themed. The Barrel Fair kicks off with a brand new race called the Village Jubilee Challenge which will be between three of the village businesses: The Post Office, The White Horse and The Crown.
The rest of
the races take place at various times throughout the afternoon so pick up a free programme to check on the timing of these. Sign-ups for adult races are at the Headquarters desk but the children’s races do not require enrolment; just listen for the announcements.
