Music aside, is there much else for visitors to be excited about Coombe?

Sure, there are many food traders, premium drinks branded bars, fair ground rides and kids entertainment (Sunday). It’s an event for everyone.

What is it about the festival site that made you immediately think it would be suitable?

Coombe seemed an obvious choice and had actually started conversations around 3 years ago before I even moved back. Coombes an amazing site with a lot of potential so we’re excited to be producing this at such a revered event space.

For people coming from outside of the midlands, what would you recommend they get up to?

Whilst they are in the area? There are loads of attractions in and around Coventry, we suggest a trip to the city centre, there’s

Teezers for ghetto golf, loads of independent bars and restaurants as well as some great nightlife spots!

On to the music now - you have some brilliant musicians on the line-up. Can you tell us a bit about the headliners playing? Is it important that you’re a big fan of everyone you book also?

When we started to build the line- up we must have sent over 2000 emails discussing acts and even though we don’t face issues such as exclusivity here it was still quite difficult to secure artists being a new festival. However securing the talent like Libertines is a dream, especially since they haven’t played for sometime. Myself and my events Manager put this together to appeal to all sorts, not just typically indie or dance. It is definitely key that we like the music though i think.

Q

What are your main aims for the festival then? How big would you like to make it?

A

The business plan was never a pop up festival. We do have a 5 year plan in play at the moment but this also doesn’t just stop at this particular festival. We’re also working on other shows regionally also which we will be releasing in due course.

And finally, how do you plan to switch off post festival season?

I’m going on a nice beach holiday with my family and switching my phone off for a week... bliss!
