EDITOR’S LETTER
festivities. Summer is here at last and it’s finally a scorcher, it built up slow to get a good run up so let’s hope it has stamina and continues long into September.

There are plenty of things to do to shake off those winter blues. We have the summer social season with many magical music events and fantastic festivals, plus the glamorous and genteel Goodwood Festival of Speed, a glorious gathering of racing drivers and supercars at the English Estate like no other. And if the sound of supercars revving and roaring around a classic manor is your thing then catch the blissful Beaulieu supercar weekend at the beginning of August.
We focus on some titillating, tantalising and tempting travel destinations this summer, such as fine dining at the Argentario Golf Resort and Spa in Tuscany, the gastronomic delights of the Dordogne and sailing yachts from the new luxury marina, Portonovi Montenegro, around the Bay of Kotor. Our property expert Mike Gazzard presents some of the most heavenly homes in Surrey, including Hills End, a Palladian architectural dream mansion. Plus we review the historic luxury Tudor hotel, Great Fosters, set within 50 acres of esoteric landscaped gardens.
I took my fashion team out to St Tropez, the glitzy yacht capital of the world, to photograph our front cover and fashion series with the mesmerising Italian model, Agatha. All shot in luscious locations such as the marvellous Villa Marie Hotel and the captivating Coco Beach Club. It was yachts, muscles and bikinis as far as the eye could see, but luckily the Mankini trend has deservedly passed into obscurity.
Enjoy the latest fashionable sunglasses for the season along with useful and essential travel accessories, so you’ll always be prepared. Spruce up your garden with our best garden gadgets to make your next BBQ an all out extravaganza. Our passionate Parisian beauty expert, Tracey Gray Mann, reveals the latest tips for your outdoor summer beauty regime, ensuring you’ll look fabulous whatever the temperature. For the adventurous amongst you we have some shocking fitness treatments along with more conventional luxury therapy at Champneys.
I take the ferociously powerful Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio out in the Surrey Hills to put it through its paces and, spoiler alert, it performs like a supercar. Along the way we select some of the leading Surrey vineyards producing many outstanding sparkling wines. Fast cars and fizz are what Bond does best, so we take a deeper look at the latest iteration of the eponymous movie franchise, with some background on Daniel Craig and his path to British spy hero stardom.
We hope you enjoy this luxury travel edition and wish you all a sumptuous summer.
