There were numerous potholes on theA20 near Hernewell Farm.

Anti-social behaviour Incidents included nuisancemotor bikes on private farmland at Tonbridge Road and a group of young people who had caused a nuisance at the Branbridges Road Co-Op. ScamThe Community Liaison had visited and reassured several residents who had been victims of scams and cold callers. Residents who had been affected by telephone scams have had call devices


AN HGV was broken into and items were stolen in ChathamRoad, Aylesford. The offenders left when challenged by the driver. Amobility scooter was damaged at a


house in EwellAvenue,WestMalling. An owner of a property noticed a window had been smashed in Sheraton Court, Aylesford. There was an attempt to break into a


Renault van parked in High Street,West Malling. A vehicle was broken into and two


circular saws were stolen inMackenders Lane, Aylesford. Intruders damaged a gate to get into the


golf club in FortuneWay, Kings Hill, and then took two golf buggies for a ride. A brick was thrown at a vehicle’s


windscreen causing it to smash, in Stangate Road, Birling. A VauxhallAstra was broken into in


TunburyAvenue, Aylesford. Tools were found scattered around, but nothing appears to have been taken.

Elections Cllr Ricke� was elected chairman and CllrWilliams was elected vice-chairman. New councillors Five residents had expressed an interest in the vacancies. It was agreed to co-opt the first four councillors: Robin Taylor; Caroline Dyer; Charles Unter and Brian Jones. Garden safariWestMalling and O�am NSPCC Supporter Group had asked to use the green for this event on September 15. This was approved, although a risk assessment would be necessary and the green would be checked before the event. Quintain HouseAccess over the green to Quintain House had been granted. Parishes in BloomKen Frost was thanked for painting the boards. He had also offered to paint the book box. Sue Williams had taken over work on The Pound. CllrMarchant would provide two logs for si�ing on. Clare Innes offered £250 towards plants and materials and this was accepted. David Frankling would remove the Quintain to refurbish it. Village Hall Over £1,000 had been raised at the last two cinema showings. Stained glass had been ordered for the new front door.Members would consider a new sign to show the way to the hall.

reported. Road surface The damage inWoodgate Road had been reported. This would be planed and resurfaced in June/July. Kent Highways had confirmed they were investigating flooding on Church Road. Village sign Cllr Peddie was repairing the village sign and had ordered a new post. Bus pilot Following the public consultation it was likely the 58 bus would be re-routed to go straight to the hospital, rather than through Larkfield.


Wateringbury


Ofsted CllrMBalfour referred to an Ofsted report which showed a�ention to special needs is not good. He assured KCC was doing what it could. Social isolation CllrMBalfour said communities needed to takemore responsibility to care for one another following a report that people of a certain age can become lonely and something needed to be done. TomSmithMemorial The cemetery regulations allow the right of burial to be extended to the family for a further 100 years from2020. If the 100-year rule was to lapse, the plot would revert to the parish council so it could be reused if necessary. It was agreed to see if any remaining family could be traced before a decision wasmade. Sports Cllr D Stones reported that the gatepost at Fields Lane entrance was ro�ing and the gate had fallen down and was broken. It was agreed to remove the old gate and post and to replace it with a new tannalised softwood five-bar gate and post, for a cost of £475 plus Vat.A new chain and padlock for the gate was also purchased. Library Cllr Roe suggested the possibility of a community library in the foyer of the village hall.

Saltings Road, Snodland. A building site was broken into and an


excavator attachment was stolen in Royal British Legion Village, Aylesford. Someone threw a brick onto the roof of


a house in Heron Road, EastMalling, causing damage to the tiles. A lease van, registration KU17 ***, was


stolen in Robin Hood Lane, Aylesford. Eggs were thrown at a house in Plover


Road, EastMalling. Person/s broke into a site by cutting the


padlock froma gate in Robin Hood Lane, Aylesford. Wood covering drainage pipes was


broken at a block of flats in Kingfisher Road, EastMalling. Three youths were seen running away. A vehicle was broken into and the blue


badge was stolen inMaidstone Road, Aylesford. A compound was broken into and fuel


was stolen fromthe site in Teston Road, Offham. A chain fence was cut to gain access to a


nursery and keys to a digger were stolen in Kiln Barn Road, Ditton. There was an attempt to break into a


unit in BellinghamWay, Larkfield. The buildings’ padlocks were broken and removed fromthe doors.
