National Health and Fitness Day
Over 330 communities have proclaimed June 1st National Health and Fitness Day and over 1,000 fitness clubs are participating

tivities for children and then move on to activities for youth, adults and se- niors. There will also be fitness chal- lenges between first responders, sports personalities and the general public.

firmed their participation, includ- ing the Ottawa Redblacks, YMCA, GoodLife Fitness, Indigenous Health and Sport Alliance of Ontario, Ontario Police Department and the Canadian Association of Athletic Therapists. FIC executives will also be meet-
ing with MPs in Ottawa to discuss our initiatives, such as Prescription to Get Active and a tiered personal trainer

certification and registration. Our mes- sage is that healthy lifestyles can re- duce healthcare costs attributed to preventable diseases. Clubs are welcome to host their own
events and promotions for the day. We encourage participating clubs to waive their drop-in fees for the day. NHFD is a great way to get involved
in your local community and bring recognition to your facility.
