Technogym's “Let's Move for a Better World” Celebrates Six Years

Increase your Personal Value

Make this spring and summer about you BY PAULA COMFORT

how many of these hours or minutes that are gone did you spend focusing on them? And how much of that time did you spend focusing on you? Professional development in the fit-

F

ness industry is everything. While our industry and life in general are moving at a fast pace, there is nothing more important than the investment of time in yourself. Here are some thoughts to help you

prioritize this next quarter–the next 90 days, 2160 hours–so you can spend time upgrading yourself and your own personal brand.

1. Join a networking club. As one

its Canadian ambassadors, I high- ly recommend the Women in Fitness Association (WIFA). It is rich in re- sources, education, mentorship and more.

2. Get a mentor. Or hire a person-

al coach. Even for just a three-month period to help you set goals and an ac- tion plan.

our months, 120 days, 2,880 hours and 172,800 minutes of time are gone. Never to get back again. If you set goals for 2019,

3. Register and take a course or

certification. Take something outside of your comfort zone. There are many excellent online options. As a fit- ness business leader, take a nutrition course. (It does not have to be a full certification.) For a personal trainer, take an online social media course or a personal branding course.

4. Request a psychometric assess-

ment for yourself. StrengthsFinder, Meyers-Briggs and DISC are all excel- lent tools to help you better under- stand yourself.

It is time to increase your value. Make the next 90 days count.

around the world joined forces to do- nate their movement and promote wellness and healthy lifestyles in their local community and beyond. The more active the users were, the bigger the donation to the communities. This year an increased number of

operators were able to win and donate a piece of Technogym equipment to a not-for-profit organization of their choice.

Some key stats from the 2019 event:

• 1,373 fitness facilities in 32 countries took part

• 200,000 participants tracked their exercise on Technogym equipment

• over 345 million calories were burned, the equivalent of 109,000 pounds

A representative from each partici-

pating facility has the chance to take part in the Technogym Forum in Cesena (Italy) from May 16-19. At the Forum participants share ideas about how physical activity can provide a vital con- tribution to building a more sustainable society, and they celebrate the cam- paign winners during an official award ceremony.
