ble. They sometimes help out at recep- tion, they’re out walking around the gym floor greeting members and doing quality control of staff, and they par- ticipate in club charity events. There are always issues with member ac- counts, cancellations and complaints which can make some managers hide in their office. oſten take candidates out for coffee or lunch and make them feel comfortable
so they show their real selves. Much too oſten, they drop their guard and share TMI about their personal lives and drama. Ugh! Over time, in emails they stop using salutations, and grammar and spelling issues appear. They forget that every interaction is part of the interview process, including emails, texts and phone conversations. You can train people to present themselves professionally, but you need the right raw skills, manners, attitude and values in place first.
