PlantersMembers heard the project to fit planterswas being overseen by CllrMoir. Parish pump Borough councillor Chappell-Tay had awarded £250 to renovate the parish pump fromher member’s grant fund. Camera The security camera at the entrance to the car parkwas reported to be fully operational. Football The council had received £300 for pitch fees fromHeadcorn Football Club. Defibrillator Ulcombe School had decided itwas no longer able to site the debrillator on an exteriorwall. Cllr Kenward agreed to explore alternative options. Play area Themonthly inspection from MBC showed a toddler swing seat had a minor defect andwould bemonitored. Cllr Lingwood agreed to carry out the inspection. Itwas also agreed to buy two metal li�er bins for the recreation ground. The quote for the annual tree survey had been accepted and repairs and new equipment delivered to the play area. HighwaysWhite roadmarkings on the LenhamRoad to the Pepper Box needed reinstating.A chevron sign on Chegworth Road near the junction ofWater Lane had been knocked over. Cllr Kenwardwould investigate li�er inWater Lane.

NeighbourhoodWatchMembers noted there had been no NeighbourhoodWatch bulletins for some time. The chairman would investigate, even though itwas felt the e-watch bulletinswere be�er. BusesNorman Kemp fromNu-Venture had agreed to reviewthe bus service in Yalding, following ameeting by the clerk and the chairmanwith the bus operator and KCC’s Nick Smyth. The original idea of providing a service to Yalding Station was seen as too costly. However,Mr Kemp agreed a reviewof the service might allowone of the buses to incorporate the station Sub-stations Itwas heard that Brexit had taken the focus of the Kent Resilience Forumaway froma plan tomove electricity sub-stations at Burgess Bank and Lyngs Farmhouse above flood level. The chairman had again chased the forumfor the name of the UK Power Network representative butwas told it was concentrating on Brexit plans. SignMBC had received the sign for MountAvenue,whichwould be installed shortly. Cows The chairman hadwri�en to the newowners of The Fen about pu�ing ca�le on the area because of security problems. Sports The chairman of Yalding and Laddingford SportsAssociation said the organisation had been inactive for a number of years and newofficers and memberswere needed. Itwas agreed to send out a note seeking interest before discussing away forward. DrainageMembers heard, as landowners, the parish council is entitled to apply to have a representative on the Upper Medway Internal Drainage Board. Ken Goughwas keen to participate and this was approved. Themembership forms have been completed. Fingerposts Councillors heard that the grant had been received and the fingerpostsmade for Lees Corner and Woodfalls. The contractor had been chased to get
theminstalled.Members also agreed a request fromthe PCC to add a fingerpost to the sign outside Randall Co�ages pointing to disabled access to the
church.Members agreed it
would arrange this, but at no cost to the parish council. Lees The Leeswas no longer eligible for Countryside Stewardship funding. Medway Valley Countryside Partnership had agreed to help the council look at other funding. Hall Itwas agreed to submit an outline planning application for a new community hall. Pavement The parish council has updated the newsergeant atMaidstone Police Station of village issueswith parking on pavements. DefibrillatorA second defibrillator is to be bought for Benover and put up outside TheWoolpack. Itwas suggested that the council pay a third of the cost,with approaches for equal donations fromthe pub and Collier Street Parish Council. Play areaA report stated equipment and the safety surface at Yalding play area needed a�
ention.Members felt itwas important thatMBC also looked at The Kintons and Jubilee Field play areas. Developer funds fromThe Glebeland developmentwould be available to help with the cost and inquirieswere to be made aboutMBC grants, although itwas feared the deadline for applications had beenmissed. FloodsWatertight wasworking to provide an assessment and options to the EnvironmentAgency. Thesewill go before KCC andMBC,whichwill review which options they are able to pursue. Car parkMembers agreed an increase to £100 for parking permits. Welcome Itwas agreed thewelcome pack for newresidentswould bemoved to the website and replacedwith a simple signposting le�er. Grant Yalding Scoutswould benefit from the borough council’smember’s grant. Councillors heard itwould be used on boats and boating equipment. ElectricityMembers agreed Callflow’s offer of £40 amonth to use the parish council’s electricity fromthe kiosk in the high street. Bridge The councilwas to provide a report about its conclusions regarding the argument between traffic lights andwhite lines on Town Bridge.
