Sports field The clerkwas to ask Scouts to ensure that the sports field gate is locked if the car park is emptywhen they leave the site. Regarding the play area, the RFOwas to respond to the resident who raised concerns about slippage. CCTV The clerk had contacted BT and had been advised that the price quoted was incorrect. Itwas agreed that the new quotewas too expensive and itwas agreed to ask the village handyman to check the CCTV regularly. Defibrillator Itwas agreed that itwould be useful to have a defibrillator at the village hall and councillorswould consider contributing to the cost. Permissive footpath Residents had expressed concerns that they did not knowwhere the permissive pathwas. It was agreed that there should be an article in the newsle�er and that information be sent to residents on the distribution list. It was agreed to install two newpermissive footpath signs. Parish event The summer eventwould take place on the sports field on June 15. Car park Itwas agreed to go aheadwith a quote to repair the potholes as itwas under £500. Scout camp fire Itwas agreed that the Scouts could have a campfire nearer the entrance of the Scout hut, and the decisionwould be reviewed in three months.

Community warden KCCwarden Liz Lova� reminded dogwalkers to stay on the paths and keep their animals on a lead and under control at all times during lambing season. She saidworrying livestockwas a crime and owners or keepers could be prosecuted even if they were not presentwhen the offence took place.A suspiciousman had been reported visiting a property on Church Hill, offering to sharpen tools. AllotmentsA plot holder hadwri�en to the council asking for a grant towards the cost of repairing the roofwhichwas corroded. The costwould be £500 for materials and tenantswould carry out the work themselves. CllrMartin proposed that a grant of up to £250 be provided. NeighbourhoodWatch Debby Farrer had agreed to act as coordinator. Cllr Stevens would performthe same role for north ward. The parish council agreed to give £100 to the group for future expenses. WI The group had suggested sponsoring a bench for the public open space at the

He had reported three dogs running loose in the PloughWents/Chart Corner area, and aman and a boy acting suspiciously in the same area. He had also reported fly-tipping, which had been cleared. Shop CllrWebb said a smaller profit had beenmade this year and a volunteer had come forward. Lierpicking Garry Jameswasmoving out of the area andwould no longer be able to carry out li�er picking.


East Farleigh

Speed indicator device The newpole for themoveable SIDwas in place in Dean Street and the council had started downloading the data fromthe SID on to the old parish laptop. SpeedwatchA session at Kilnbridge Close had recorded 25 vehicles travelling atmore than 35mph.At Dean Street on March 25, 55 vehicleswere recorded at speeds of up to 60mph.

Crime Kent Police reported on vehicle donuts on the village green, an incident in


a trader’s car park, Sainsbury’s concerns over youths in the vicinity and an incident at the village hall. The frequent presence of a silver van driven by youths had also been reported. Flood risk The problemat Uptons had been rectified. Hop PocketWay appeared to beworking. Developers Crest Nicholson and KCCwere in dispute over a drainage pipe that should run along Grigg Lane.An enforcement officerwas dealingwith a filled-in drainage ditch on WeaversWay. Aerodrome Events this year included the Ba�le of Britain Show. The aerodrome was negotiating withMBC to be allowed to submitmultiple events for planning approval. Communications TheWelcome to Headcorn pack should be completed in the next couple ofmonths. The groupwas looking for sponsorship for printing.

Potholes Kent Highways had confirmed that potholeswould be repaired in Grasslands and further long termwork would also be undertaken to repair the surface in the summer. Fence repair The clerk had taken urgent action for a repair to the boundary fence of the recreation ground. Bus pilot project The pilot scheme for the No 13 buswas expected to be at the beginning of June. Details of the finalised timetablewere awaited. ParkingAn emailwas received froma resident about parking on Leeds Road. The PCSO agreed tomonitor the situation. Play area Therewas a request for a dog waste bin in the area. Itwas agreed to put signs on the fence saying binswere available at the entrance to the village hall. Laptop giftA thank you cardwas received fromMaplesden Noakes School for the donation of six laptop computers.


Nelestead


Speedwatch Two residents expressed an interest due to the number of vehicles speeding through the village. KGV Field Golding Homeswho had agreed to dealwith the trees. The clerk would continue to chase this. Streetlights Ten lights had nowbeen upgraded to LED and repairs had been carried out. The parish council had received £1,000 fromCllr Stockell. There was enough in the budget to replace another five lights. The clerkwould speak to the contractor about this.Members also wanted the repairs, at a cost of £1,240, to come out of this year’s budget. Gas worksWorkwas due to take place along the B2015 inApril and the clerkwas asked tomake the contractor aware that Gibbs Hillwas not suitable as a diversion. Railway crossing Residents had been concerned by the noise fromthe new crossing. The clerkwould pass this on.
