building work and a refit were completed, the block remains empty. The Prison Service says it nowhas a surplus of accommoda- tionfor female inmates, andcannot justify staffing the newfacilities. IMB East Sutton Park chairman, Peter Judges, said: “The refurbish-


ment of the flats was intended to help residents become more self- sufficient. “It is a great waste of money to


refurbish the flats and not use them, quite aside from the loss of benefit towould-be occupants.” East Sutton Park (pictured) is an
