The editors of both Britain’s FBJ and North America’s FBJNA toured the cargo hold of Lufthansa’s brand-new Boeing 777F during a press conference in Frankfurt, Germany,

aircraft had arrived Frankfurt from Shanghai and was scheduled to fly to Beijing that evening. The aircraft first landed at


Frankfurt after flying from the Boeing manufacturing facility in Everett, WA, on February 19. The sixth B777F in Lufthansa Cargo’s fleet, the aircraft now offers scheduled service. Upon its arrival, Harald

Virgin Atlantic Cargo set to soar in South America for first time


Virgin Atlantic Cargo will be launching flights between London Heathrow and São Paulo, Brazil in 2020. Flying daily between


London Heathrow and São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport, the Boeing 787 service will offer cargo customers multiple tonnes of capacity a day. The new route represents Virgin Atlantic’s first foray into South America and will give customers direct access into the continent’s largest import and export market. The new service aims to


capitalize on the fast-growing Brazilian economy and São Paulo’s standing as the country’s commercial capital and one of the top 20 global economic cities. The airline expects to

AirBridgeCargo Airlines is ramping up its footprint in Asia by offering customers twice- weekly frequencies to the Bangladesh capital to accommodate the country’s emerging export flows that are seeing westbound volumes grow robustly in recent years. Dhaka becomes the 14th destination in ABC’s Asian network. The flight will be operated in conjunction with ABC’s Shanghai, China, service and will give customers a vast choice of international connections over its Moscow cargo hub.


DHL Express will be expanding its existing DHL Medical Express (WMX) service between Mexico and the United States. The integrated transportation solution, which DHL launched in Mexico in July 2018, facilitates the delivery of Mexico-based patient samples to U.S. central labs in less than 24 hours. This reduces transit times for these urgent temperature sensitive shipments from primary cities (beyond Mexico City) by an additional day.

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has reinforced its position as the largest provider of ground and cargo handling services at DFW by winning a new three-year contract from Qantas. WFS will handle some 3.4 million kilos annually for Qantas, which operates seven A380 passenger flights per week from the airport to Sydney as well as a weekly B747-400 freighter service. The new agreement covers ground handling services for Qantas’ passenger operations and cargo and ramp handling for its freighter flights. WFS already provides cargo handling services for the airline at LAX.


dnata announced the appointment of Dirk Goovaerts as the company’s Regional Chief Executive Officer for the Asia Pacific region. In his role, Dirk Goovaerts will oversee dnata’s catering, ground and cargo handling operations at 10 airports in three countries, including Australia, the Philippines and Singapore, managing a workforce of 6,000 employees. Dirk Goovaerts will be based in Singapore.


Atran Airlines has enlarged its fleet with the delivery of its first B737-800BCF, increasing its total number of freighters to five. Having successfully completed certification of the Boeing 737- 800BCF in Russia, the airline will be the first to operate this type of freighter, enabling Atran’s customers to benefit from more solutions for cargo deliveries. The additional airplane will boost the carrier’s capacity and guarantee a wider choice of logistics solutions for its customers linking routes between Russia, the CIS and Europe.
