UK Gutter’s10th Anniversary
We are undeniably proud of what we have achieved over the past ten years, and from our inception, we never wanted to be the biggest, we just wanted to be the best at what we do. Our growth has been intentionally steady and gradual. Thus, we maintained control of all aspects of our business, and never lost sight of our focus on client services. While we have seen several changes
to the services we offer over the past decade, which by necessity and demand have had to evolve, we have seen very little difference with regards to our clients. We have successfully retained a high proportion of our clients, along with a high rate of staff retention. We believe that this is a testament to our levels of service, work ethos and ethics. We started trading in the Spring of
2008, and within weeks’ of establishing UK Gutter Maintenance Ltd, and recognising the importance of health and safety while working at height, we appointed our Health and Safety Manager, Martin Young. One of his first jobs was to gain the Safe Contractor accreditation and Constructionline approval, which he achieved in 2009. More recently, we have added CHAS and Altius certifications to this list. 2009 was also a big year for our machinery. We upgraded from 12.5m to 16.5m liveried MEWPS, providing us

with greater flexibility for safely accessing numerous types of buildings. That same year, we secured our largest contract with the retail giant Carpetright, for both planned and reactive gutter cleaning and maintenance work for whom we still work for to this day. As a result of our growing number of
clients, in 2008 we employed our very first Working Supervisor, Noel Wilders, who was subsequently promoted to Team Leader, a position he still holds. Additionally, we also appointed Diane Russell as a member of our office staff, who we quickly promoted to become our General Manager. Five years later, we were awarded a
contract with Cancer Research UK, for carrying out a gutter cleaning and a minor roof survey across the charity’s entire property portfolio. Consequently due to this and the obtaining of other contracts, we increased our employee numbers further, increasing our labour force to five on-site teams. Most recently, we have employed Marc Thompson, as our Health and Safety Manager. Marc was mentored by Martin
Young, for 18 months in preparation for his predecessors’ retirement in late 2018. In 2015, we had one of our busiest year’s,
which included undertaking a combined gutter and signage clean across Topps Tiles entire portfolio of properties. Two years later, we successfully tendered
for a three-year contract for both planned and reactive work across the country, on behalf of Safestore, the largest self-storage company in the UK. Our most recent achievement is being
chosen as the preferred supplier to our top ten blue-chip clients, together with a number of other companies. We are looking forward to what the next
decade has in store for us! Our national gutter maintenance and
