The Keytracker Mechanical and Electronic Key Management Systems have proven to be the perfect solution for the facilities industry, providing a secure and easy to use solution that users can rely on. These time-saving, security boosting systems have allowed business employees, both nationally and internationally, more time to work on other essential tasks and projects. The Mechanical Peg In – Peg Out System

has proven to be the easiest and most cost-effective system whilst also providing top security and management for all keys. Gaye Poole, Office Manager of First Choice Cleaning and Maintenance Service explained

“The biggest difference we have noticed is that nobody needs to manage the keys anymore, previously someone would have to hand the keys out or we wouldn’t know who has taken the, now we can glance at the Keytracker system and instantly see who has it. It’s saved so much time already.” The Keytracker Electronic System provides

a more in-depth audit trail of each key set, each member of staff can access the cabinet with their unique PIN code, swipe card or finger print. All transactions (who entered the cabinet, what time it was, what key was taken and what time the key is returned) are automatically logged and submitted to

an advanced key management software application. Andrew Howarth, Deputy Head of Residential Accommodation at The University of London said “Since having the systems installed across our sites, we have a decrease in time spent fin ding the correct keys for a building or area and have full visibility of who has accessed keys, at what time and for how long. It is now obvious if a key is missing and we can easily identify who has it, the system also makes people more accountable for ensuring shared spaces are left clear and tidy.” To find out more about how Keytracker

Install sprinklers now, says London Fire Brigade and Johnson Controls

Following the news that the London Fire Brigade has called for all purpose-built residential blocks to have sprinklers installed, please see comment below on how the government and building managers can act quickly for change post- Grenfell, by Simon Rooks, operations director, Johnson Controls, and council member of the British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BASFSA): “The London Fire Brigade’s call for mandatory sprinklers

in new high-rise buildings, irrespective of height, is yet another plea for action on fire safety. Industry bodies, building owners, and occupiers have been calling for vast improvements to fire safety regulations ever since the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Fitting sprinkler systems in old and new buildings needs to be a priority – sprinklers aren’t simply an add-on, but a life-saving essential.

“Regulations already exist to ensure sprinklers are installed in new tower blocks taller than 30 metres. But ensuring that sprinklers are installed shouldn’t be dependent on building height or whether a building is old or new. We urgently need a solution that ensures sprinkler systems become an integral component in fire safety systems across the country, both residential and commercial. “The government should offer clear guidance and financial support to local councils and building owners. Retro-fitting sprinklers in existing high-rises, or incorporating sprinklers into the design stage of new-builds, is cost effective, practical, and urgently needed. Building managers and specifiers need to find the right supplier now to ensure the safety of their residents – and legislators need to take action today to save lives.”
