X Factor Live Tour rolls into the West Midlands
This month, the annual X Factor Live Tour rolls into the West Midlands, giving us the chance to see last year’s winner, Dalton Harris, along with runners-up Scarlett Lee and Anthony Russell perform to thousands of X Factor fans on 17th February.

It got us thinking, after 15 years of the X Factor gracing our screens each year… who are the biggest stars to come out of the TV series?
15 acts from categories across the ‘Overs’, ‘Boys’, ‘Girls’ and ‘Groups’ have won over the public and finished in 1st place, with their winning moment reaction captured and broadcast to millions of viewers across the country.
Whilst the majority of winning acts have managed to bag a number 1 spot on the Big Top 40, there is one winning act that stands out to us – Little Mix!
Their recent single, ‘Woman Like Me’ was the band’s fourth Big Top 40 number one, which means they’ve reached the top spot more than any other X Factor winner. Having had their new album ‘LM5’ on repeat for the last couple of months, we’re convinced there’s still more number 1 singles to come out of the girls in 2019!
The X Factor’s biggest selling single came from James Arthur just after he won in 2012. He bagged the coveted Christmas number 1 spot that year with his winning single ‘Impossible’, which went on to sell a huge 1.2 million copies. James Arthur has seen recent success with tracks ‘Re-write the Stars’ alongside Anne-Marie for ‘The Greatest Showman: Reimagined’ soundtrack, as well as featuring on the 2018’s X Factor winner’s song, ‘The Power of Love’.
However, post X Factor success hasn’t just been limited to winners. The likes of One Direction and Olly Murs have proved that the runners-up can enjoy just as much success as the winners.
Since placing second to winner Joe McElderry, Olly Murs has gone on to become one of the UK’s biggest male solo artists in decades. With six chart-topping albums, six tours, a string of awards and nominations, as well as endless presenting and TV appearances, it’s no doubt that Olly Murs has been busy since the X Factor, and has reaped the rewards of his popularity that the TV series brought him!
We can’t talk about X Factor successes without mentioning One Direction. From finishing in third place on the X Factor, they went on to become undeniably the biggest boyband on the planet, totting up a whopping 50 million record sales. After deciding to take a hiatus in 2015, the boys have gone on to enjoy successes independently with each of the band members releasing hit solo singles, with Harry Styles even taking on blockbuster acting roles!
So, I suppose we need to thank Simon Cowell for giving us all this amazing talent and music right?!
