Community service ideas


BEARSTEDParishCouncil has en- joyed the assistance ofmembers of the Community Payback Scheme run by Cllr Geoff Bennett on Sun- days for the last 12months. They havedone a great job in the


village, tidying up certain areas in- cluding footpaths and the Eliza- bethHarvey Field. This projectwill continue for the


foreseeable future and we would be pleased to receive any sugges- tions and recommendations from residents for areas that need atten- tion. Please contact the parish office,

nowonitsway A NEWSLETTER is to be distrib- uted to all residents soon, which will include a form to fill in with suggestions andrecommendations to assist the parish council over the next two years. The form, which is simple to fill


out, can be returned to the office, via the contact page on the parish website or comments can be emailedto survey@bearstedparish- council.gov.uk. The newsletter will contain in-


formation on the council’s achieve- ments over the last couple of years andhowwe see thingsmoving for- ward with the continued support of our residents. Your councillors are all volun-


teers and verymuch need the sup- port of their community.

BEARSTEDParishCouncil, alongwith Keeling Fitness andMaidstoneBoot Camp have arranged fitness sessions for residentswhowould prefer a be- ginner/taster session at a slower pace/lower impact to join in and get fit. These limited 30-minute sessions are free to residents. Craig Keeling,


who operates on the Green, will take these sessions each Saturday at 10.45am, and Steve Thomas and Tracey Rice, who operate at the Eliz- abeth Harvey Field, will take the class on a Friday at the same time. Craig can be called on 07879 696104 and Steve or Tracey can be con-


tacted on 07963 701263 for further information and date schedules throughout the year. No pre-booking is required, just come along and enjoy the opportunity tomeet other residents and start a new healthy workout once a week at your own pace.

Market returning to the Green inMarch


WEARE relaunching theMarket on theGreen on the first Sunday in every month, starting in March. Banner informationwill be dis-


played aweek before eachmarket day. Emma Hull, our admin assis-


tant, has taken on the role ofmar- ket organiser with support from Cllr Jo Tribley, so if you are inter- ested in having a stall please con-


tact Emma at the council office or email our admin address. We had a variety of 12 stalls


confirmed at the time of going to press, so please come along and support them (weather permit- ing). A small donation will be re- quested at the two entrances,with all proceeds being donated to a different charity eachmonth. The first charity isKentWildlife Trust, whowill also have a stall.


Working together on schools BEARSTED Parish Council wishes to advise that it is working with Boxley Parish Council with regards to residents’ concerns and objections over the proposed school planning applications, which were raised at the recent full councilmeeting.


Bearsted Parish Council will


have a stall which will be run by different councillors each month so that we can update residents on any topics or projects that are in hand, as well as answer any questions, so please show your support. It is hoped that we shall also


run aChristmasmarket again this year if themarkets are supported by residents.
