MM Baby gifts
When a new baby comes along, big brothers and sisters can feel a little left out. Here’s are our top tips for keeping everybody happy….and for the perfect gift!

Bringing a new baby into your home can be special and joyful, but it can also be a little stressful for older children, so it’s a good idea to ‘smooth the way’ with a little gift from the new arrival! The best time to present the big sibling
with a gift is when they come to meet their new brother or sister in the hospital. Tell them that the gift is from the new baby, as this will automatically engender positive feelings in your older child. gift… What makes the perfect gift for this
occasion? Time and time again, friends and family
looking for a gift for a newborn come up against the question of what to also give to the sibling, now newly promoted to the role of big brother or sister. While there is an extensive choice of gifts for the new baby, it can be more difficult to find a gift for the older child that makes them feel special at what is an enormous turning point in their life.
Notebooks/art materials Your first few days with your new baby are going to be a bit stressful, so a gift of art materials such as a notebook and colouring pencils will give them hours of doodling time! They’ll be so wrapped up with drawing that they won’t feel left out in the slightest.
Dolls Some kids – especially girls – will enjoy having a baby doll of their own to care for. While you’re busy changing your real baby, your child can busy herself (or himself!) mimicking what you’re doing with their new doll. Buy one of those milk bottles too – the ones where the milk ‘disappears’. Your child will really feel involved in the whole process.
Books If you’re looking for the perfect book for this occasion, then you won’t do any better than these fabulous books from Forget Me Not! ‘You’re The Biggest’ is a beautifully illustrated story book about the very special role that a brother or sister has to play, while Welcome To The

Say cheese! Why not help your older child feel really involved by asking them to record baby’s first few days at home on a camera? An inexpensive camera or even a disposable one will allow your child to feel very important – regardless of their age!
