The North Eastern Reined Cow Horse came here to play, And play is what they did… When down the arena with thundering hooves they slid. With circles and stops and crowds cheering on, The rider marked a 71. Then came another to challenge that score, Topping the last with a 74. Horse and rider took their place and held steady, For cattle who now were anxious and ready.... Ducking and diving, trying to outrun… They were trying their best to get the job done … Off down the fence at a wide open pace, Horse and cow trying to find open space. Circle left, then circle right … All coming together for the last time, With a final score of 79. If the score sounds in error, well this is the cows’ story And he’ll go wherever his mind takes him,
The arena now quiet with no horse left in sight He’s wishing ya’ll Peace on Earth and thank heavens A Silent Good Night ! All the best in the New Year and I hope to see you down the fence in 2019
