FOUNDATION What does the Foundation do?

The Florida Police Chiefs Education and Research Foundation was formed in 1987 with the specific purpose of advancing charity and education by providing financial assistance to the Florida Police Chiefs Association in the areas of education, research, training and the gathering and dissemination of information to law enforce- ment agencies and the public. Over the years, the programs have grown and expanded. But we need your help to continue to fund these programs. Here are the top initiatives of the Foundation.

• College scholarships for police explorers • Conference scholarships for Chiefs serving in municipalities that are unable to fund their training and education dues to budget constraints

• Training grants that fund the Mid-Winter and the Summer conferences • Training seminars that include new police chiefs’ seminar, a future police chiefs’ seminar and an administrative assistant to police chiefs seminar

• One day seminars on current issues facing law enforcement such as public records and cyber security • Hosts the Florida Police Chiefs Association website • Secures grants to provide specialized training for law enforcement executives and staff
