Chief Dorene Thomas (Retired)


Chief Dorene Thomas (Retired), Pinellas Park PD began her law enforcement career as a parking enforcement officer at the St. Pete Beach PD. She rose through the ranks becoming the first female officer at Pinellas Park PD and finally Chief of Police in August of 2000 until her retirement in 2015. She became the first female president of the FPCA, serving in 2009- 2010. Her tenure was characterized by a devotion to improvements in training, professional standards, increasing membership an professionalism in the field.
