LIVE 24-SEVEN - LIVING ROOM FEATURE BOCONCEPT LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT SOFA

BoConcept offer advice on choosing the perfect sofa for your home. We all know that it’s easy to measure your new sofa’s floor space. However, details like height, armrest thicknesses and required features can be harder to pin down.

BoConcept suggest you evaluate your existing model, that's a great starting point. For example, the overall length of your sofa is fine, but its wide armrests steal too much valuable seating space, answer - go for a longer design or opt for narrower armrests. Think also about the position of other furniture such as the TV, does the arms of your sofa block other peoples view of the TV? An open-ended sofa might be the answer! Here's their top 5 tips!

THOROUGH RESEARCH... Trying out your prospective sofa can seem awkward as staff may not want you to mess up their lovely display? Don't be deterred! You need to be sure of the quality of the product you are buying and its design. BoConcept want you to be as sure as they are of the product.

SIT DOWN... Sit in every seat - for at least three minutes. Check for comfort and the absence of hard framework and springs. BoConcept sofas offer great comfort, so check all the profiles of the sofa or seat are padded and you feel good sat down. Try the armrests and check your seating posture. If you are tall, you should consider designs with longer seat depths: the length from the back cushion to front of the seat.

LEATHER OF FABRIC... With modern fabric treatments and high-performance blends, the practicality-gap between fabric and leather has narrowed. However, if you have pets and very young children, leather is the better choice, as it is still more durable and easier to clean on an everyday basis. If you are considering a vibrant colour sofa, fabric is best as the matt of many fabrics will give it a contemporary feel. Leather is always luxurious and velvet is so on-trend right now and are extremely chic! With over 100 fabrics and leather swatches, you'll be spoilt for choice...

CHAT TO THE INTERIOR DESIGNER... BoConcept have trained in-house Interior Designers who will visit your house, take measurements and give friendly no-obligation advice – helping you find your perfect sofa and you also get to tell your neighbours who pop by to see your lovely new furniture that your interior designer selected it....
