The process of choosing which subjects or ‘options’ to study at Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) takes time and needs some care and thought.

Your parents, your tutor, your teachers, your friends, careers advisors and others will all try to help you

make the right decisions. Some subjects are compulsory. These are the ‘core’ subjects of English, Maths and Science along with

Physical Education, Religious Studies and PSHE. The other subjects you can study are arranged into blocks which have been designed to give you a

good chance of doing what you want. You will need to do some research; the school will be able to help you with that. A good starting point

is to ask yourself which subjects do you like NOW. Is there a career that attracts you? If there isn’t, don’t worry! The important issue is to take time to consider, discuss and to choose with care.
