How is the course assessed? Unit 01: Exploring craft and enterprise skills At this level you will expand your basic craft skills and knowledge of materials and techniques and produce an evidence folder of your practical ability. This unit is internally assessed. Unit 02: Research and develop design ideas for craft items You will draw ideas from a range of sources to
explore possible ways forward and will develop them creatively to achieve your intended outcome(s) and produce a design folder/sketch book/portfolio. This unit is internally assessed Unit 03: Respond to a craft brief In this unit, you will be given a design brief and will then need to research information to inform your ideas. You will use visual techniques to present your final idea together with a costed project plan. This unit is externally assessed Unit 04: Produce final craft work You will produce a product/s which demonstrate
a level of skill when using materials and techniques and will set and adhere to your own targets for production. You will evaluate what you have learnt through the whole process. This unit is internally assessed Remember, V Certs feature in Progress 8 equal
to a GCSE. The final grade for the qualification is based on a structure of Not Yet Achieved, Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction*. Pupils who achieve the NCFE Level 2 Certificate
in Creative Studies:Craft could progress to level 3 qualifications and A Levels such as: • NCFE Level 3 Applied General Certificate in Art and Design • NCFE Level 3 Applied General Certificate in Business and Enterprise • A Level Art and Design • A Level Design and Technology.

FOOD PREPARATION AND NUTRITION New AQA Specification
The course will have a balance of theory and practical work to equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding to comprehend the processes of food preparation and nutrition. The following topics will be studied during the
course: • Food, nutrition and health • Food science • Food safety • Food choice • Food provenance
How is the course assessed? A written exam with a combination of multiple choice and longer answer questions ~ 50% of the marks.
As much as possible, the emphasis is on the
practical, so students have every opportunity to take part in a performance. Students can study as a performer, or a designer, or both. For design, they can specialise in lighting, sound, set, costume and puppets. The specification is diverse, practical and accessible to students of all abilities, and provides opportunities for students who may have studied Performing Arts rather than Drama in the past. There will be three componants: Understanding
Drama; Devising Drama; and Texts in Practice. The split is performances (30% of the total mark), coursework (30% of the total mark) and examination (40% of the total mark).
