Introduction to FOCUS Career Development Programme
Tuesday, 11th September, 11.00–12.30. Free for members and non-members Whether you are looking to explore a new career while in the UK or to pursue an established one, this introduction will help you kick start your search. Denise Donoghue, FOCUS career consultant, will provide detailed information about our Career Workshops, one-to-one coaching and career-related seminars. This is the perfect opportunity to meet Denise, network with other FOCUS members and start sharing your own career narrative. Early registration is recommended because this is a very popular programme and spaces are limited.
Career Workshops
Tuesdays, 18th, 25th September, 2nd and 9th October. Explorers 9.45–11.45, Fast-Trackers 12.30–14.30, Free – FOCUS members only This is a comprehensive 4-week programme (2hr/week) where participants are split into two groups ‘Explorers’ and ‘Fast-Trackers’ depending on their career goals. Presented by Denise Donoghue, this programme has an outstanding track record of providing job seekers with all the practical knowledge and a network needed to successfully find a career in the UK. 96% of previous participants would highly recommend this programme. Attendance at all four sessions as well as the Introduction on the 11th September is required.
Your LinkedIn profile step by step
Wednesday, 26th September, 10.30–12.30. Free for members, £25 for non-members You do not have a LinkedIn profile yet, or you haven’t touched yours since you opened it? Come along to this practical and interactive seminar led by Prachee Jha, FOCUS team member responsible for the Career Development Programme. Prachee will guide you through the basics on how to create the right profile, develop your network and organize your connections and privacy settings. Feel free to bring your laptop or tablet.
Interview skills for the 21st century
Thursday, 11th October, 10.30–12.30. Free for members, £25 for non-members Join Jelena Radonjic, Career Fulfilment Coach, for an interactive workshop to learn about all the types of job interview and the most common questions you might face as well as how to prepare effectively to stand out from the crowd. There will be plenty of time for questions so come along with your queries and ask what you always wanted to find out about interviewing skills but never dared to ask.
