If you have kids, September in the UK usually means getting them back to school. It’s the start of a new school year for them but don’t let the kids be the only ones with a new slate. Why not use this month to make a ‘new year’ resolution to try something new just for you or perhaps dust off a skill or hobby you’ve been meaning to get back to. While putting this issue together we were spoiled for choice with all that London and the UK has to offer when it comes to classes, workshops and any kind of self-improvement you can think of. Our cover article gives you an A-Z guide to all that London has to offer to get you motivated. But we couldn’t leave it there. Two other sections show you how to add another string to your bow too. Te sewing article in our Art & Culture section made me think of my friend Suzy who decided to take up the craft recently and has made dresses gorgeous enough to wear to Ascot as well as a super-fun tennis themed skirt to Wimbledon this past summer.
Speaking of new starts, in this issue our FOCUS & me section features a FOCUS member who has made a new start in London with our Career Development Programme. We loved hearing how it helped set her on the road to a new career in her new home. Te next workshop starts on 11th September so make sure you’re signed up if you’re looking to take your work life in a new direction. Turn to page 34 for details of the programme and the rest of our schedule of Events and Seminars for the next two months.
