EMERGENCY SERVICES AND THE PUBLIC
JOIN FORCES TO COMPETE AT THE BLUE LIGHTS OPEN CHARITY SHOW
Equine Therapy sponsored 1m class. Reserve Overall Show Champion
as Suffolk and Gwent; some of these competitors scooping top awards in the dressage and show jumping competitions to make their trips very worthwhile! This is aunique annual show for local and regional riders. All profits from the show are donated to it’s formal charities. The principal charity supported by the PSUK Blue Lights is the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund: A charity dedicated to helping the lives of children who lose afamily member as a result of violent crime. Emergency Services Show Jumping Champion was Amy Burroughs of Gwent Police with Just Sharky who competed in the Jill Riley Ltd sponsored 80 cm class; the Kents Hairdressers sponsored 90cm class and the Complete Commercials Horsebox Repairs and Complete

ompetitors travelled to this show at Solihull Riding Club on 3rd & 4th August from as far afield
was Lisa Hansford of West Midlands Police with Sid who competed across the board in dressage, show jumping and combined training classes. The Combined Training series was kindly sponsored by Police Credit Unit and Carole Way of PCU presented class awards. The Combined Training Champion
in the horses section was taken by SamBennett of West Midlands Police with Ballyfore Luisa. Blue Lights Overall Champion Emma
Smith and Popsters Masterclass - being presented with the dressage championship cup by Lesley Fisher of PSUK & Blue Lights Equestrian The Overall Show Champion awards
were picked up by Emma Jane Smith of Suffolk Police who brought her amazing ponies to the show, Merrie Maydance and Popsters Masterclass. Awesome dressage scores in the preliminary and novice dressage classes between 69%and 72%, and clean jumping rounds earned Emma the overall Dressage championship trophy and the Combined Training trophy. Their lorry must have needed extra fuel to get all those prizes home!! The entire pony show jumping section
was kindly sponsored by the Pony Nuts Riders Club of Crowle, Worcestershire and whose arena team did a fabulous job on the day of the show making all run
smoothly. The ponies section was short of competitors which left the door wide open for the fabulous Zeus ridden by Jack Moore in the open section to scoop the top awards. The open section dressage championship winners were Carly Jones with Carrabawn Theodore and open section Show Jumping Championship winners were Claire Bosley with Tremeer.
