s adog lover Ifelt Ihad to write to say how concerned Iam that we all look after ‘man’s best friend’, in the excessive heat we have had this Summer. It is so important to ensure they are well hydrated, with good access to water at all
times. Shade is essential, so they can keep cool, Woodland is great. A Paddling Pool for Paws -a spot of shallow paddling is good, both our dogs enjoyed this, this summer! Walking them in the cool of the day, very early morning, or preferable late evening is also advisable. If taking them to shows/events is unavoidable, remember to park in the
shade with adequate ventilation. Mine suffers from separation anxiety and so he tends to go everywhere with me. I rig up a portable fan in the back of my lorry, running off of a 12v car battery, this not only keeps Freddie (my naughty but irresistible terrier) cool but the horses too! It is heart breaking to hear the sad stories of dogs dying in boiling cars and lorries. Just a little common sense is all that is needed.
