WhitehallDrive Following contact by residents regarding the use ofWhitehall Drive as a public access to thewoods, the parish council hadmade enquirieswith KCC Highways and KCC Public Rights ofWay (PRoW). KCCHighways had confirmed that this road had never been adopted. PRoW also confirmed that the route had never been dedicated as a public right ofway and that it was privately owned. Itwaswithin the rights of the landowners to prevent access. Should residentswish to challenge this, theymay apply to have the route established as a public right ofway. NeighbourhoodWatch Co-ordinator Ken Pa�ison had resigned fromthe post of village co-ordinator. Linda Sinclair, regional co- ordinator, had also resigned.Dave Spi�er, volunteer andwatch liaison officer at Police HQ, had also resigned and there had been no information about a replacement. Reported crime in the area could still be viewed on E- watch. Sports Field The annual safety check had been carried out and a formal reportwas awaited. The clerk had beenmade aware of significant rot to some of the older Playdale wooden posts,with the recommendation of removal (this is not a safety issue). Defibrillator It had been reported to the clerk that the lightwas flashing on the defibrillator cabinet.With the support of CraigWard, of First Rescue Training and Supplies Ltd, the clerkwas able to reset the security cabinet and check the defibrillator,whichwas nowin completeworking order. The pads and ba�ery had a life expectancy to 2021, so regular observational checkswere all that was needed and amaintenance contractwas not required. WWI commemoration The clerk had received one “maybe” offer of help/interest following an advertisement in the Parish News. Itwas resolved to cancel the event. Church The parochial church council of St Margaret’s Broomfieldwanted to erect a lamppost at the gateway to the church for safety reasons. Councillorswere happy to support this application. Village plantersDue to family commitments, the volunteer hadwithdrawn their offer to plant the planters. Councillors asked the clerk to speak to the handyman. Buses Complaints had been received from residents about the changes to the bus service, and the lack of notice. The bus stop timetables had nowbeen amended.

FAMILIES with children who have serious and terminal conditions are to be given help in their own homes, thanks to a pilot project. Demelza@Home was launched on August 7,
by Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which has hospices in Sittingbourne, Eltham, and also supports families in East Sussex. The projectwill see childreninKent supported
in the family home andwill involve four families (one inMaidstone)with children under five. Children’s palliative care nurse Beth Helen said: “We have found that not all families feel

Harbour play area Following consultation on the three proposals received, itwas agreed to accept the HAGS proposal, and for the clerk to investigate the possibility of the quad flyer being positioned outside the fenced play area. AllotmentsAn inspection had been completed and the clerkwouldwrite to those holderswhose plots had not passed. CllrWard offered to help those allotment holderswhowere experiencing difficulty maintaining their allotments.
