A Cohnversation with Sam Cravero CEO of The Fuge in Warminster, PA


How did you come about owning the venue now known as The Fuge?


I owned a security sales and installation com- pany for about 15 years and was just looking for new office space. When I found this building, it had been empty for several years and was con- sidered a “distressed property.” In addition to moving my company here, I renovated and rented out office space on the first floor to other companies and at that time had no intention of opening a venue. I had no idea what I was going to do with an enormous room that housed the world’s largest centrifuge.


What inspired you to take this his- toric training site and transform it into the very unique event space it is today?


It had been two years since I had purchased the building. I had tried to rent the space, but because of the giant centrifuge in the center of the room and the historic designation that would not allow me to remove said centrifuge, I had to think outside the “circle.”


When the Philadelphia Flyers made it to the playoffs, I decided to put up some drywall as a make-shift screen and invited my brothers to watch a game with me. They won, so for the next game I invited friends and family to watch. We moved some couches into the room and everyone brought food. By the end of the game, everyone was saying how cool it was to hang in this room.
